"va" Wins Best Abstract Plaque!

Today at the St. Bernard Art Guild Members Fall Show, my dot art painting, “va” received a Best Abstract Plaque. Plaques are awarded for specific themes, i.e. best spiritual, maritime, portrait, etc. The judge was Kathy Miller Stone, an artist from Baton Rouge. The show was held inside the council chambers at the St. Bernard Government Complex. The actual plaque is in the second photo below.

  1. Congratulations! A well deserved award, of course. I hope there was a cash prize, as well!
BTW, I don't know if you're interested, but the Berkeley Gallery & Studio here in Abita Springs has been kind enough to offer their grounds for a weekly art market through the end of the year; Sundays, 9am-2pm. The best part? It's totally free--no site fees or anything! Let me know if you're interested in displaying/vending; lgramlich@email.com

Unfortunately, only the higher awards come with cash. : (

I know how long it takes to cross the Causeway bridge, but how much longer a drive is it to Abita Springs?

Let me get back to you on the art market. Do you have a photos of the gallery to link?

Thank you very much for your enthusiastic words.

I'm glad the judge found my small painting among all the bigger pieces in the show. It was one of three small ones I entered.

Thank you very much. : )

I'm happy that I've found a way of making art that keeps me happy and that keeps buyers buying - both locals and tourists. There's still a lot of work that goes into these, but at least there is demand for them.
