Poydras Home Art Show

This year the Poydras Home Art Show was open to the public on Friday before coming down that evening. My three dot paintings hung together in the large front room. There was a lot of activity during the show.

Honorable Mention at Lakeside!

This morning I entered art into an art show competition sponsored by the West Bank Art Guild. It was held at the Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie. Participants designated three pieces to be part of the judging. Anyway, my acrylic painting, "Veinte," was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Not Under Glass Category. The judge was Martha Guthrie.

Poydras Home Art Show on Halloween

This year the Poydras Home Art Show and Sale took place on Halloween. The sky was overcast and the rain was light. Like last year, the show was only up for one day. My three new paintings hung inside in the big room. All three paintings appeared together on one board. On the following Monday I picked up my paintings.

Third Place Not Under Glass, Again!

Friday morning I entered art into an art show competition sponsored by the Metairie Art Guild. It was held at the Clearview Mall in Metairie. Participants designated three pieces to be part of the judging. Anyway, my acrylic painting, "Once," was awarded third place in the Not Under Glass Category. The judge was Tanya Dischler. This is the second time I've won third place for this painting.

Participants designated three pieces to be part of the judging. Anyway, my acrylic painting, "Once," was awarded third place in the Not Under Glass Category. The judge was Carol Scott.

"va" Wins Best Abstract Plaque!

Today at the St. Bernard Art Guild Members Fall Show, my dot art painting, “va” received a Best Abstract Plaque. Plaques are awarded for specific themes, i.e. best spiritual, maritime, portrait, etc. The judge was Kathy Miller Stone, an artist from Baton Rouge. The show was held inside the council chambers at the St. Bernard Government Complex. The actual plaque is in the second photo below.

ARTinA Outdoor Art Show

Today I participated in ARTinA’s (Art in Algiers) Outdoor Art Show at Mt. Olivet Episcopal Church in Algiers Point. The show was held in conjunction with the Algiers Point Association (APA) Home Tour. Both events are two days.

Naturally I brought my dot artwork to hang up on the fence. Unfortunately not a single soul asked me about buying any of them. Some folks briefly stopped to look.

One woman advised me to sell my work to people who conduct Lamaze classes. She said that they looked like a good image to help expectant mother concentrate.
