Alpha Eta

Although I have been sticking to bright colors, I made one dot painting with a brown background. My challenge was to see what dot colors I could place on top of it to make it interesting. I have my color wheel that enables an artist to find complements of various colors that are light and dark. So I went to the other side of the wheel to make my choices.

  1. Very nice! I think it's good to move out of one's familiar path and try something different at times :)

    Thank you.

Production takes at least 4 or 5 hours all together. Thinking up patterns varies a lot more. Some ideas come quick, while others do not.

  5. I really like this one, Mo. Several different images came to my mind when I looked at this. 4th of July sparklers, dandelion fluffballs, and the pompoms my mom used to make to put on the top of knitted hats that she made. Crazy, unconnected images, I know, but that's just how my brain works. All of them have in common the idea of energy flowing outward from the center. I'm rambling on here, but anyway, I really like this one. Very nice. Hope you are having a good weekend. :D

    Thank you, Daisy.

You sure had a burst of visual associations. That's what I love about working with abstract imagery. Viewers bring all kinds of interpretations to abstract artwork.
