For the last few weeks I’ve had creative block. I’ve been stuck – not deciding how to go forward with my oil spill theme. Finally I decided I should simply work with images of animals affected by the disaster. I didn’t want to depict oil-covered animals. Brown colors would take me away from the pastel colors I prefer. Anyway, here is my painting of a sea turtle.
acrylic on canvas, 6" x 6"
Very beautifully done, and sad because the way things are going, it looks many of these creatures will not survive the catastrophe. Your art forms a tribute to the passing of something very special. Thank you for that.

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Thank you.
I appreciate the support. It's not a story that I can tune out. Local radio, newspapers and television constantly harp on the various connected dramas. There are daily ripples affecting everything down this way.

I like it, Mo. I prefer the pastels you used to browns too. Seeing what is happening to the wildlife there is so heartbreaking.
